Organised by the European Conservation Agriculture Federation (ECAF) in collaboration with the LIFE InnoCereal EU project, the “European Conference on Conservation Agriculture” aims to bring together farmers, policymakers, researchers, universities, and industry representatives to share experiences and foster collaboration towards more sustainable and resilient cereal production systems in Europe.
About the Congress
Objectives
Under the theme Moving towards Sustainable and Climate-Resilient agricultural production through Conservation and Regenerative Agriculture, the conference will address the key challenges and opportunities in transitioning towards sustainable agriculture that reduces greenhouse gas emissions, enhances soil health, and improves the quality and profitability of cereal crops.
At the European Conference on Conservation Agriculture, innovative solutions, success stories, and collaborative approaches will be explored.
The specific objectives are:
- Promote the adoption of Conservation Agriculture and digital practices as effective pathways to improve soil health, biodiversity, and carbon sequestration while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring long-term sustainability of cereal production.
• Strengthen collaboration across the cereal value chain, creating an integrated ecosystem that connects producers, researchers, industry, and policymakers to support innovation, certification schemes, and market-oriented sustainable practices.
• Enhance competitiveness and profitability of cereal farms through the development of sustainability and quality certification systems, improved varietal selection, and the integration of precision technologies that align production with market and societal demands.
• Encourage knowledge transfer, policy engagement, and replication of successful models, as well as the Best Agricultural Practices (BAP) to ensure the scalability of sustainable practices across Europe, supporting CAP eco-schemes and contributing to the EU’s climate and biodiversity goals
